Blepharoplasty in Turkey: what determines the cost — and what to ask
Upper blepharoplasty at UK private clinics is commonly quoted between £3,000 and £5,000+ — and that figure usually covers the surgery alone. The same operation in Istanbul costs a fraction of that. The reason is not a difference in the operating room: it is staff costs, facility costs, and currency. A surgeon in Istanbul with thirty years of eyelid surgery behind him operates in the same way, with the same instruments, as his London counterpart. What differs is what everything around the operation costs.
The number on a quote matters less than what sits inside it. Before comparing prices, ask every clinic the same five questions: Who exactly performs the surgery, by name? Is the facility a licensed medical centre with operating theatres, or an office? Are hotel and transfers included, and for how many nights? Is there a laser or aftercare component included? And how does follow-up work once you are back home? Two quotes that look £500 apart can be £1,500 apart once these answers are on the table.
There are also warning signs worth taking seriously. Be cautious of any clinic that gives you a final price without a doctor ever seeing your photographs — eyelids cannot be assessed by a price list. Be cautious of discounts that expire today; surgery is not a flash sale. And be cautious if no one will name the surgeon: the person holding the blade matters more than any other line on the quote.
A fair assessment also includes the possibility of 'no'. Not every heavy eyelid is a blepharoplasty case — sometimes the real issue is brow position, and skin removed on the wrong plan makes things worse. A clinic that examines the lid, brow, and eye surface together, and tells you honestly when surgery is not the right answer, is protecting both your face and your money.
At Aras Aesthetics, eyelid surgery is assessed the same way every treatment is: photographs first, a written assessment from the surgeon, and an honest answer before any booking. If you are researching your options, start there — the assessment costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
