Hair transplant in Turkey: what determines the cost — and what to ask
A hair transplant at a UK private clinic is commonly quoted between £5,000 and £15,000, depending on graft count — usually for the surgery alone. In Istanbul, all-inclusive packages from established clinics typically sit between €2,000 and €5,000, with method (Sapphire FUE or DHI), graft count, and what the package contains moving the figure inside that range. The difference is not what happens in the operating room: it is staff costs, facility costs, and currency. The instruments, the technique, and the biology are the same in both cities.
Be careful with per-graft pricing. A price that looks small per graft becomes a very different number multiplied by 3,000 — and it invites the wrong incentive: clinics selling the largest possible graft count rather than the right one. The donor area at the back of your head is a finite resource that does not grow back; a plan that spends it all in one session, or promises 'maximum grafts', is a red flag rather than a bargain. The right graft count comes out of analysis — loss pattern, donor capacity, and a plan that leaves reserves for the future.
The number on a package matters less than what sits inside it. Before comparing prices, ask every clinic the same five questions: Who plans the operation and who performs the implantation — by name and title? Is the facility a licensed medical centre with operating theatres, or an office suite? How many patients does the surgical team take per day? What exactly is included — nights, transfers, medication, the first washes, an aftercare kit? And how does follow-up work at months three, six, and twelve, once you are back home? Two packages €500 apart can be €2,000 apart once these answers are on the table.
There are also warning signs worth taking seriously. Be cautious of a final price quoted before a doctor has seen your photographs — a scalp cannot be assessed by a price list. Be cautious of a guaranteed graft count offered before any analysis. Be cautious of discounts that expire today; surgery is not a flash sale. And be cautious if no one will tell you who actually holds the instruments: in a market where some operations are run entirely by technicians, the answer to that question matters more than any other line on the quote.
A fair assessment also includes the possibility of 'not yet'. If your hair loss is still active, transplanting into it can leave an island of transplanted hair standing alone a few years later — the honest first step is often stabilising the loss, not booking a date. A clinic that tells you this is protecting both your hairline and your money.
At Aras Aesthetics, every transplant is planned by the doctor after analysis and performed by a dedicated hair surgery team in a fully equipped medical centre — one patient per day. If you are researching your options, start with the assessment: send your photographs, get a written plan, and compare it against anything else you have been quoted. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
